Chione CEO Susan Wiggins resigns

The Board of Directors of Chione announced the resignation of Susan Wiggins, CEO effective December 31.

Susan will become a Senior Strategic Adviser to the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) effective January 4, 2016. Susan will work alongside Randy Fiser, CEO, providing strategic counsel to ASID’s programs and services, partnerships and the future of the industry and profession.

“The entire Board is extremely pleased for Susan; there is no one more qualified for this role,” says Aandra Currie Shearer, President of Chione, who goes on to say, “The Canadian interior design community has been strengthened over the past several years and there is no denying that the reputation we have developed is the result of Susan’s hard work and dedication to this profession.”

Susan’s tenure with the interior design profession in Canada began in 2000 when she became the Executive Director of the Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario (ARIDO), a role she held until 2010. After a restructuring initiative to realign the association communities across Canada, Susan became the Chief Executive Officer of Chione.

“The past fifteen years have been the highlight of my career and there are so many people to thank for that,” says Wiggins. “My decision to leave, while difficult, was made easier knowing that progress continues on every front, there is a passionate and committed Board, staff and volunteer community in place, and most importantly, my relationship with Chione and the membership will continue through my role at ASID”.

An Interim CEO will be appointed before Susan’s departure at the end of the year and a Recruitment Committee has been established to carry out the search for a new CEO. Chione will continue to keep the membership informed through our newsletter, ID Connects.
